ACHIEVEMENTS OF THE NATIONAL STRATEGY FOR TRANSFORMATION (NST1) REVEALED AT THE 19TH NATIONAL UMUSHYIKIRANO COUNCIL

Prime Minister presented achievements in implementing the National Strategy for Transformation (NST1) to the 19th National Umushyikirano Council Kigali, 23-24 January 2024 Prime Minister Dr. Edouard Ngirente  presented key achievements in implementing the National Strategy for Transformation (NST1) to the 19th National  Umushyikirano Council, that took place in Kigali Convention Center from 23-24 January 2024.

Prime Minister revealed that 13 resolutions of the 18th National Umushyikirano Council (NUC) were implemented at 91%.  He added that remaining activities are also being expedited.

He noted that Rwanda’s economic growth kept a positive trend, before and after COVID-19 whereby it grew at 6.9% from 2017 to the third quarter of 2023. 

The Premier also recalled some key measures put in place by the Government of Rwanda to support the recovery process. These include subsidies for fuel, public transport and fertilizers.

Prime Minister highlighted key NST1 achievements in the agriculture sector, infrastructure, industry, education, health and social protection.

He concluded his presentation by committing to improve coordination and collaboration between institutions as well as being closer to citizens for better service delivery.
